Our Process
The sharpening process involves:
- A visual check, disassembly of the blade set
- Cleaning
- Sharpening
- Polishing
Reassembly, including:
- Setting the blades
- Lubricating
- Checking and resetting tension if needed
- Testing prior to a final clean and returning to the customer
This is the only way to be sure that the blades will operate properly for your machine.
If the socket, blade guide, screws or tension spring need replacing this is done at the time and these parts are all included in the cost of sharpening. When your blade wear plates (front rail and rear rail) are getting low and there is only a couple of sharpens left, we will inform you. The process of sharpening is always a removal of metal, just the minimum to achieve a clean sharp edge, ensuring you get the maximum life from your equipment.
Clipper Servicing - Small Animal
We also offer clipper servicing.
As a professional animal groomer, we know how vital your clippers are to your business. These tools of your trade need to be regularly and properly maintained to keep them running smoothly on a busy day in the salon when you need them the most. More importantly to keep them running safely to prevent any damage or accidents.
You should get your professional clippers serviced annually, or more often, such as twice a year, if you work in a busy salon. However, you can prolong the life of your clippers by performing daily maintenance like cleaning and oiling blades, and checking components such as the drive lever and replacing it if necessary, typically every 2-6 months for heavy users.
Typical turnaround time is 7 working days* from receipt of clippers to dispatching them back to the owner. We also offer local drop off and pick up for those of you who live locally to us in Tauranga.
*This is dependent on work required on the clippers and availability of parts if needed.
If your clippers are still under warranty please refer to the manufacturer for any work required.
