It is essential you keep your tools of the trade in tip top condition and well maintained. We sharpen ALL A5 blades, some adjustable (5-in-1s etc.) and some trimmers. Please refer to the list below as to what blades we can/cannot sharpen and if you are in any doubt please contact us.  

Pricing includes the replacement of any required socket, blade guide or tension spring.

Typical turnaround time is 5 working days from receipt of blades to dispatching blades back to the owner. We also offer a local drop off and pick up option, for those of you who live locally to us in Tauranga.

Order Process

Order online

Select the number of blades, ensuring you select the correct type/quantity. 

In checkout, it is important you add the details (make/size/quantity) of each blade in the special instructions, along with any issues it may have. e.g. Wahl 5F x 1 

If you have a discount coupon to use, you can enter it at the top of the checkout page. 

For the return of your blades please ensure you select the relevant shipping option in checkout.

Once your order has been placed, you will receive an email with details of the order, as well as your unique order number.

Pack Your Blades

Pack your blades securely with bubble wrap, ensuring there is plenty of padding between them. Then place them into a box or wrap with cardboard before placing them into your shipping envelope. This will dramatically reduce the risk of breakages while they’re in transit.* After your first order you will receive your blades in a box that you can reuse for future orders. 

*Before packing your blades we recommend taking a photo of them to ensure the condition they get sent to us in, is the same condition they arrive in. 

The order number and/or the order email must be enclosed within the envelope with your blades.

Please write your return address on the outside of the parcel.

Send Your Blades

It’s your responsibility to pay and send your blades to us. When sending any items to us, we recommend using a tracked and/or signed for service. This way, you can keep track of your parcel and be sure of a safe arrival with us. Our address is as follows:

Blades that CAN be sharpened/serviced.

A5 blade sets, any brand, standard or wide steel blade sets ie Buttercut, Wahl, Heiniger, Andis, Joyzee, Diamond Cut, Oster, Laube etc. 

A5 ceramic blade sets - note that the COMB ONLY is sharpened, whilst the ceramic cutter is replaced, as ceramic cutters cannot be sharpened.

Horse or livestock steel blade sets

Adjustable blades (5-in-1, 4-in-1 etc) - For all adjustable blades, only the comb is sharpened but the cutter has to be replaced, as they are not designed to be sharpened as per manufacturer’s guidelines. Replaceable cutters are currently only available for Wahl Bravura, Wahl Arco, Wahl Creativa & Wahl Figura and any other brand that uses compatible blades to these makes/models. For any other brands please check with us first.

Midi Trimmers - any brand of ‘Midi’ sized trimmers.

Note although cheaper softer metal blade sets can be sharpened, they don’t sharpen well and are prone to being temperamental after being serviced.

Note while midi trimmers can be sharpened they don’t sharpen well, and are actually not designed to be sharpened as per manufacturer’s guidelines, so are prone to being temperamental after being serviced.

Blades that CANNOT be sharpened.

Any blades that have plastic components on the comb or cutter, even if the bulk is metal, cannot be sharpened. 

A5 Ceramic cutters - whilst the metal comb can be sharpened, the ceramic cutter cannot. When sending in these blade sets for servicing the cutter is replaced with a new one.

‘Mini’ trimmers - any brand. Anything smaller than a ‘midi’ trimmer size cannot be sharpened as the metal is too thin and are actually not designed to be sharpened as per manufacturer’s guidelines.

Adjustable/trimmer ceramic blade sets - ie. Codos etc cannot be sharpened.

If we receive any blades that cannot be sharpened for any reason, we will let you know why and it will be refunded back to you. We will return it to you, with any other blades you have had serviced.

IMPORTANT: Test your blades on receipt!

It is essential you test your blades within a maximum of 5 business days of receipt to ensure you are happy with them and they are working as they should.  Notify us immediately after testing them if you experience any issues and we will work with you to resolve these.
